Come explore those Viva Products with Jen Starr!

Jen Starr is coming to Kept Creations with 4 fabulous classes!
August 3rd and August 4th, 2013!

Jen Starr is a Mixed Media Artist with a fine art background who has been in the Craft Industry as a Designer and Instructor for over 10 years.  She is the Senior Educator for Viva Décor USA, the Creative Director for Art Anthology and is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor (with 5 certifications from Ranger).   There are many companies and products that inspire Jen and she is an endorsed educator or has worked closely with many of them such as Ranger, Ten Second Studio, Viva Décor, Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, Stampers Anonymous, Faber Castell, Basic Grey and Prima, just to name a few..  Jen has designed several signature product lines and currently has a signature line of paints called Dimensional Crystals as well as a range of Colorations mists with Art Anthology.  Her projects have been featured in many publications in the US and Europe including the “Ink Essentials” book.

 You will discover techniques and textures galore with this Viva décor workshop! Join certified instructor, Jen Starr as she guides you through a wealth of information and layers of dazzling color using Viva’s most popular products including 3D Stamp Paint, Ferro, Inka Gold, Crackle, Glitter Pens, Pearl Pens, Glass Effects Gel, and the brand new Maya Gold paints! You will receive instructions for each technique which we will attach to the backs of our finished tags to create a reference guide full of techniques to use in all of your future projects.
**please bring to class – paint brushes and a container for water; palette knife or scraping tool; a roll of paper towels and/or baby wipes; and a heat gun if you have one.

If you are a scrapbooker at heart but are interested in mixed media and art journaling then this is the perfect workshop to get your creativity started! We will construct the base of your art journal in class and focus on techniques using a variety of mediums from Art Anthology, Viva Décor and Ranger to create some stunning backgrounds and effects while we work in your own photos.
To keep those creative juices flowing I will also be offering future on-line classes throughout the year to continue this theme and build your book further with additional techniques and pages!
**Please bring to class a paintable adhesive such as gel medium or Mod Podge, a variety of photos (color or black and white) that can be easily cut out around the figures…precutting these before class will speed up the process. Craft knife and cutting matt or detailed scissors, variety of paint brushes and a palette knife if you have one.

Mixed Media Canvas - Sunday, August 4th from 11AM - 1PM

 Working on a 12x12 stretched canvas you will create a mixed media masterpiece full of color and texture with a variety of surfaces! You will learn fun and unique ways to use a variety of mists and paints from Art Anthology and beautiful
mediums from Viva Decor to create gorgeous dimensional effects that will bring your art and photo to life! No previous painting experience is needed!
**Please bring to class: Gesso; collage glue such as Gel medium, Mod Podge or Ranger’s Multi-Medium; red tape or Fabri-tac for use on fabric/lace; a container for water; a few paint brushes including a 1” flat or larger; One larger photo (black and white looks great!) that the main image can easily be cut out. I usually recommend 5x7” or larger.


This is a fun and creative mixed media 8×8 chipboard mini-book that is sure to get your mojo going! It has a unique trifold design with interactive flipping pages that give each section a gate book effect…and additional fun flipping elements inside! You will be working with Art Anthology Colorations mists, sparkling Sorbet paints plus my own line of Dimensional Crystals to create gorgeous backgrounds and dimensional effects!
**Please bring to class – paintable adhesive such as gel medium or mod podge; container for water and a variety of paintbrushes including a 1” flat brush and detail brush; roll of paper towel; paper trimmer and heat gun if you have one.
