Dichroic Glass

Dichroic glass contains multiple micro layers of metals or oxides that gives the glass interesting optical properties. Depending on the angle you view it, light either passes through or is reflected, causing a lovely array of colors.
Developed by NASA for use on space shuttles, dichroic glass was quickly adopted by jewelry makers for its lovely jewel tones. It is expensive however, so is generally not a material incorporated into craft projects.
Join us at the art bar this Sunday for a mini drop-in class featuring a quick, easy and affordable technique to make faux dichroic glass. You will love the look of this!
